Michael Harris is a 20-year medical coding professional with a decorated track record in delivering transformative results as a coding recruiter, compliance manager, instructor and specialist. He has developed his talent from a multitude of flagship institutions including NYC Health & Hospitals, New York Presbyterian Hospital, City University of New York and Mount Sinai Medical Center. For several years, Michael has been teaching students throughout the New York area the necessary skills to succeed in the medical coding realm.
Now, Mr. Harris brings his wealth of expertise to a broader audience of deserving students and aspiring medical coding professionals. His goal as an online instructor is to integrate and connect the accountability of the classroom experience in a convenient way that won’t interrupt his student’s daily lives. COURSE CURRICULUM
As a student at M.E. Harris School for Medical Coding, you will complete a comprehensive 24-week course, covering all the necessary skills for national certification. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and embrace the safe space provided to ask questions and develop a deep understanding of the materials.
No matter your learning pace, no student will feel like “just a number” or get lost in the crowd. To ensure accountability and success, students will participate in weekly class discussions with 1-on-1 personal instructor sessions and live interactions.
Each student’s instruction is centered around real-life application and preparation with over 1500 AAPC questions from prior national exams, a through explanation of coding rules/ guidelines, coding techniques and strategy. To guarantee accountability and preparation, the course curriculum includes quizzes, a final exam and national exam review.
